Agência para a Modernização Administrativa, I.P.

Created in 2007, AMA follows the Presidency of the Council of Ministers responsibilities in the areas of digital government, modernisation and administrative simplification, under the superintendence and tutelage of the Secretary of State Assistant and for Administrative Modernisation.

AMA’s activity is divided in three major pillars: Digital Transformation, Public Services Delivery (both physical and digital) and Public Participation.

AMA leads areas such as ICT strategy and governance, electronic identification (eID), interoperability, open data, and other building blocks of the digital government in Portugal.

Degree in Applied Mathematics to Probability and Statistics and a Master degree in Statistics - Faculty of Sciences, Lisbon University [FCUL]. Worked 13 years at Millennium bcp Bank in Customer and Business Intelligence teams with Data Mining and Big Data. Teach Probabilities and Statistics at Portuguese Red Cross’s Superior Health School [ESSCVP] and works at the Administrative Modernization Agency [AMA] involved in Open Data, Data Driven, Data 360º, Cloud, Emerging Technologies and Artificial Intelligence projects in the Public Sector. AMA is a public institute that exercises the powers of the Ministry of State Modernization and Public Administration in the areas of modernization, administrative simplification and digital government.

Master degree in Communication Science, with a focus on Digital Media and Human Computer Interaction. Head of Content and Digital Platforms at AMA. Involved in the strategic and daily operations regarding online public service delivery, content strategy and customer experience pertaining to AMA’s online platforms. Project Lead for the national Open Data program, and acts as the Portuguese national representative on the European Commission Public Sector Information Group and the OECD Open Government Data Group, as well as other international initiatives. Outside the public sector he has also worked in Corporate Communications and Digital Marketing, across the startup, technology and design industries.
